Election Day

Today is election day!

Get out there and Vote for Scott Brown!

Here’s what’s happening for election day activities to ensure we deliver the Scituate vote to Scott Brown!!

1)  PHONE CALLS: The campaign has requested volunteers to make calls from the Plymouth phone bank but if you can’t make it to Plymouth, we’d like you to make calls from home to ensure everyone makes it to the polls.  If calling from home, phone lists will be provided. The phone bank is located in Plymouth at 74 Long Pond Road.  Please reply to me if you can volunteer and what time for either Plymouth or from home. At the very least, we all need to call and email everyone we know to be sure they get out to vote for Scott, and follow up to be sure they did.

2)  RIDES TO THE POLLS: If anyone needs a ride, Stephen Coulter and Ryan Owens have volunteered to drive our seniors and/or anyone needing assistance or a ride to the polls.  Stephen’s numbers are 781-956-4770 cell or 781-378-2222 home.  And Ryan’s number cell number is 314-420-0518.

3)  SIGN HOLDING/STANDOUTS: We will be having rush hour stand outs at the Rotary and train station, as well as the High School.  Please let me know if you are available and at what time.  Jim Bailey is transporting signs to stand out location and the polls.  His number is 781-545-5347.  Please call Jim if you need a large sign delivered or smaller signs.   Jim will also monitor the polling location at the high school to keep an eye on our signs for lighter coverage time periods during the day.  (Apparently, many signs have been stolen over the past 2 days).

Finally, The Brown for US Senate Campaign called today to epecifically express their sincere appreciation to all of the Scituate volunteers who have worked so hard over these past weeks to ensure a Brown victory, which is a victory for all of us!!
THANK YOU ALL!

Crunch Time

Hi All,

A bunch of announcements here:

This is CRUNCH TIME. As members or associates to the Republican Town Committee of Scituate, I need you NOW, more than ever, to each help ensure that Scott Brown is victorious on Tues.

The most important way you can help right now is to make phone calls, whether from the South Shore HQ in Plymouth, or from the comfort of your homes. I have also received numerous calls and emails from towns people asking for signs and ways to help, but I’ve only heard from a few of you. Please email me asap to let me know your availability and willingness to help.

Here’s what is needed:

1) Volunteers to make calls from now to election day.
2) Volunteers to make calls on election day 1/19
3) Volunteers to pick up signs and distribute
4) Volunteers to monitor signs/stand out at poll on election day

Please keep in mind this is an unconventional election and therefore an unconventional campaign. The strategy is not to run around putting up yard signs and do stand outs from now thru election day… The strategy is phone calling, calling, and more calling… to townspeople, to friends, family, and co-workers. This is what Scott wants all of us to do…make calls and make sure people we know get to the polls.

We are also encouraging everyone to vote at the town hall by absentee ballot by Friday. This will ensure your vote is in in case of sudden weather or circumstances come up that prevent you from getting to the polls. This is especially applicable to anyone going away for the long weekend! If you know anyone going skiing or somewhere for the long weekend, PLEASE ask them to vote by Friday just to get it done!

I especially want to thank Ethel and Ron Wheatley and Bonnie and Alec Hay for their continuous support and hard work in helping Scott Brown’s campaign. They have been actively getting signs up around town and have been making phone calls daily. THANK YOU ! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I’d like to let you know we’ll be having an election eve party and I will be getting back to you with the details of that. A member of the Brown campaign from Scituate has generously invited all of our committee, working hard on the campaign, to attend. Again, I’ll be sending another email with the info.

Please reach out to those on our committee without email. i.e. Ann, please call Hope. Ethel, please call Bonnie, etc.

Also, THANK YOU to those who contributed to the success of the Tosca fundraiser for Scott this past Sunday! We had 150+ people and raised $30,000. He gave a great speech and stayed until he could talk to each person individually! He was so appreciative, as am I!

Please feel free to call or email me with any questions.

Thank you,

Janet

A message from Victor Pap:

My campaign committee is hosting a fundraiser for my re-election bid this upcoming Wednesday October 28th (see attached flier).

If you can’t attend, could I ask you as a friend to make a small on-line donation to my re-election effort?

Also, for those who want to check out Weymouth’s newest upscale restaurant, this fun-filled event with a complimentary libation and heavy appetizers is located at the Blue Pointe Bistro. If you donate on-line by tomorrow evening at 8 PM, you can bring a guest at no extra cost.

Thank you for your support!
