Charlie Baker to visit Scituate

Charlie will be at Heritage Day on Saturday at 11am. We need supporters to walk with Charlie to hand out literature, get folks signed up for emails from the campaign and hand out bumper stickers.

We are meeting in front of Satuit Hardware at the Corner of Brook and Front Street at 10:45am to greet Charlie as he arrives. If you can join Charlie in Scituate, please let me know.

Just a friendly reminder of our meeting tonight at 7 pm at the GAR Hall, 353 Country Way. This meeting is VERY IMPORTANT, especially if you are a delegate!

On the Agenda:

1) Guest Speakers:

Joe Malone – Candidate for Congress

Mary Cannaughton – Candidate for State Auditor

Karyn Polito – Candidate for State Treasurer

2) Candidate Teams:

We will be choosing which candidate(s) you would like to work on their campaigns for Scituate. If you don’t select at least one candidate, one will be assigned. In being on the candidate’s Scituate campaign team, you will be providing support and info to the campaign such as:

signature gathering, sign locations, stand outs (as we near election), among other things.

3) Convention 4/17

We will discuss the convention details for those attending. If you haven’t done so already, please be sure to register online. Some of us are going on Fri 4/16 to attend the various parties. But it is not required if you prefer to drive up early on Sat.

4) Open positions on the Committee:

Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary.

Fundraiser for Sgt. Sherman Memorial Fund

Please join Bob Hedlund this Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Barker Tavern in Scituate for a very important fundraiser to benefit the Sgt. Benjamin Sherman Memorial Fund, which helps soldiers and their families in need. The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $15 at the door. Bob will be broadcasting live from the event as part of Monday Night Talk’s 3rd Anniversary.

Meeting 2/2/10 – Delegate Selection

Just a reminder that tonight we will be conducting our delegate selection for the 4/17 convention. The meeting is at 7 pm at the GAR Hall, 353 Country Way. If you can not attend and would like to be a delegate, please email me asap with your name, address, and phone number. Or call me at 781-378-2700.

Gubernatorial candidates CHARLIE BAKER and CHRISTY MIHOS will be present at the start of our meeting, as well as SEN. HEDLUND.

Being a delegate is very important becasue the Delegates determine who will be the endorsed candidates of the Mass. Republican Party for the ensuing State primary, and will have exclusive claim to such status for campain and fundraising purposes. This is for statewide offices from Gubernatorial, LT. Gov, Treasurer, Auditor, Atty General, and Secretaryof the Commonwealth.

The convention is on Saturday April 17th in Worcester. Most choose to arrive on Fri to attend the various parties and events at the hotel on the eve of the convention. Some choose to arrive the morning of the convention. All info of hotels etc will be provided to the elected delegates.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN NOT BE AT THE MEETING AND WOULD LIKE TO BE A DELEGATE. That way I can have your name on the list to be voted on.
